About Fiona

Thanks for visiting my website.

I’m a Scottish classical realist and plein air painter, born in Lossiemouth and raised in Glasgow.

For as long as I can remember, drawing and painting have been at the centre of my life. With a deep love of travel and adventure, I’m rarely without my sketchbook or travelling easel, constantly inspired by the landscapes, light, and atmosphere of the places I explore.

After deciding to pursue art professionally, I enrolled at the Glasgow Academy of Fine Art, where I completed their intensive three-year drawing and painting programme, graduating in 2022. My training provided a strong classical foundation in observation, draftsmanship, and oil painting techniques, shaping the way I approach both studio and plein air work today.

I currently divide my time between my studio practice, commissioned work, and painting outdoors, where I’m continually exploring new ways to capture light, mood, and atmosphere through paint.

My work is heavily influenced by the Old Masters and the traditions of classical realism. I’m particularly inspired by Titian and Vermeer for their mastery of light and colour, The Hague School painters for their atmospheric plein air landscapes, and Chardin for the quiet poetry and simplicity of his still life paintings.

My work is in galleries across Scotland including ScotlandArt Gallery, Bath Street, Glasgow.and Fotheringham Gallery, Bridge of Allan.

Previous exhibitions include a solo exhibition with Cass Art, Glasgow, and work shown in the OXO Tower, South Bank, London and the McEwan Gallery, Braemar.

In 2022 I appeared a Wildcard artist on TV Show, Sky Arts Landscape Artist of the Year 2022 - an experience I hugely enjoyed.

My paintings are held in private collections across the UK, Europe, America, and Australia, and my work has also featured in film and television productions.

I’m currently based in Glasgow, Scotland, where I continue to paint between studio work, commissions, and painting outdoors whenever I can.
